Revelation Overview

On Wednesday Night, September 1st, we will discuss “The Revelation.” We have received several requests for a brief (one session) summary of “The Revelation.” Back in March 22, 2020, I began a Revelation study that took 28 Sermons and lasted 9 months. But this time, I will try to give a Revelation Overview in less than an hour.

One of the biggest concerns for most Christians in interpreting The Revelation is – “When is The Rapture?” In 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17, the Bible says, “For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up [Greek – Harpidzo, Latin – Rapiemur = Raptured] together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.”

So 1 Thessalonians clearly teaches about a Rapture. But the question for the evening is:  Where is the Rapture in the Book of The Revelation?   Some prophecy teachers say the Rapture is located at Revelation 4:1 “Come up here.”  Some teach that the Rapture is located at Revelation 7:9 “I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands.”  Some teach that the Rapture is located in Rev 14: 15 “Thrust in Your sickle and reap, for the time has come for You to reap, for the harvest of the earth is ripe.”

As we prepare for this study, please answer the following question:
